Substance-Use & Addictions CounsellOR, Kevin Goodwin, RPC-P

Be Inspired By A Person Who Has Been There

My name is Kevin, and I am here to help.

I have deep personal experience with substance abuse: addiction has gripped my family, friends, members of my

community and myself. My addiction strained my relationships and my ability to cope with life.

I used substances to avoid feeling grief, loneliness, guilt, shame, and anxiety — just as you might be doing.

I am thankful my recovery journey began in 2016, but it was not easy. Outpatient treatment programs, detox facilities, and in-patient treatment were all part of my journey.  I am here to support you in managing your usage. Whether your addiction include drugs, alcohol,

relationships, gambling, food, shopping, or sex, I am here to help. Whether your goals include sober curiosity,

harm reduction, or abstinence, I can help create a plan that works for you and your best life. As my professional training has given me

the skills to help you, my personal journey gives you the mind and heart of a recovered addict, dedicated to your recovery.

Addiction counselling provides the mental, emotional, and behavioral health services you need to recover from drug and alcohol misuse, gambling, sex, and other behavioral issues. As your counsellor, I work alongside you to help identify maladaptive thoughts and behaviors which have contributed to or caused the addiction. We then work to replace these dysfunctional, negative thoughts and behaviors with positive coping mechanisms in a bid to achieve a reduction in use or complete abstinence. Counselling involves creating treatment plans with the ability to address other contributing mental factors such as anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma.
